Best place to find Finger Lakes arts and crafts

The awe inspiring beauty of the Finger Lakes is also an effective muse for artists and craftsmen in the area. There are many local shops where you can find their creations, but here are the Finger Lakes innkeeper's recommendations on the best place to find Finger Lakes arts and crafts:

Skyland Farm

It's a great place to visit. They have pottery, jewelry, toys, brooms; you name it from local artists and craftsmen that are both unique and beautiful. An added plus is animals and something for the kids to do AND a café with GREAT deserts. Located on the East side of Seneca Lake, (Rt. 414 near Hector) ~ Glenda Nash - Gentle Giants Bed and Breakfast

This is upscale, and features the work of very talented artisans. Products include pottery, jewelry, copper sculptures as well as the more ordinary soaps, candles and food products. The cafe is a delicious bonus. ~ Donna Cunningham - Yale Manor B&B

The Wind Mill

This endeavor represents one of the most eclectic outlets we have ever seen.  You can find anything there from impeccably crafted genuine leather handbags to hand cut and engraved crystal wine glasses, gorgeous hand made quilts, table ware, clothes, and even pillows and comforters with your favorite animal's hand painted photo likeness.  In addition there are lots of booths selling homemade Mennonite bakeries, lots of produce and even fabulous cuts of fresh meats.  ~ Terry and Bob - Keuka Overlook B&B

A 31 acre site with three main buildings, a street of shops, an open air market, a produce shed and covered vending area.  Over 250 vendors which including Amish and Mennonite specialties.  FREE Parking & FREE admission open every Saturday from the last Saturday of April through mid December; plus Memorial Day, Fourth of July and Labor Day.   Hours are 8 AM until 4:30 PM. Located on Rt 14A just south of Penn Yan between Keuka and Seneca Lakes. ~ Nancy and Al - Gorham House Bed and Breakfast

The Wizard of Clay - It features everything imaginable made from clay. The owners do it all - from building the geodesic domes that house their enterprise, to producing all the wonderful creations within. This father and son team specialize in clay pots and vessels with leaf imprints and also crystalline glazes. Their work is extraordinary and well worth the scenic drive to get there. Ithaca Farmers Market - This waterfront market is a great place to visit for arts and crafts on the weekends from April through December. Their collection of vendors is huge and the talent is great. The market is all under cover so even in bad weather you can peruse the works in comfort. Located on 3rd St. off of Rt 13 in Ithaca. ~ Steve and Kathy Wirt - Wine Country Cabins B&B

Greater Ithaca Art Trail - Features over 50 artists in the Ithaca area. Consult the map for locations as they're not all in one spot. Located near the Southern end of Cayuga Lake ~ Erick Smith - Brookton Hollow Farm B&B
