Best Public Beach in the Finger Lakes

The Finger Lakes region certainly contains some beautiful waters. Each of the lakes have their share of public beaches. All of them are good, but some are better than others. Below the local innkeepers voice their recommendations for the best of the best.

Red Jacket Park on Keuka Lake - The beach is nice and clean and in cooler weather, they even turn their famous "lake heaters" on for you!  There are also public boat launch capabilities and The Outlet Trail is right nearby.  Since the town of Penn Yan is located on the East Finger of Keuka Lake, the water is fairly calm since you are protected from major winds by the Bluff, the land mass that seperates the East & West Fingers.  Swimming can be really enjoyable as well as floating peacefully on a pontoon boat! Located in Penn Yan at the Northeastern tip of Keuka Lake. ~ Terry - Keuka Overlook B&B

Kershaw Park on Canandaigua Lake - Many of our guests have stated that the beach is very clean with nice views of the lakeside and more than adequate bathers' facilities. ~ Robin and Michael Grentus - A Wolfpack Bed 'n Breakfast

Lodi Point State Park on Seneca Lake - It's hard to beat our private beach but when our guests want to walk more shoreline, or venture out for a bit of a picnic, the beach at Lodi Point is what we recommend. The park is small and quiet yet sits on a point so it has lots of nice shoreline for walking. The pebbles are small, round, and smoothly pollished. The park contains a great boat ramp and some docking facilities. Sadly, the State no longer allows swimming. Located on the Eastern shore of Seneca Lake in the town of Lodi. ~ Steve and Kathy Wirt - Wine Country Cabins Bed and Breakfast
