The best restaurant for a Fish Fry in the Finger LakesThere is certainly no shortage of good restaurants in the Finger Lakes. The idea of being near the lakes may have you in the mood for a good fish fry. Here's what the local innkeepers have to recommend when it comes to finding the best restaurant in the Finger Lakes for a Fish Fry. Scott's Fish-N-Chips - Has the best fish fry, hands down. The fish is fresh, thick and fried to perfection. Not too much batter. The cole slaw is more on the vineragy than creamy side. And the fries are hot. Huge portions. A bargain at $6.99. The coconut shrimp are excellent as well. Located on Rt 21 in Shortsville, to the North of Canandaigua Lake ~ Sheryl Mordini - 1795 Acorn Inn Doug's Fish Fry - is the very best in the Finger Lakes Area. In tourist season , go early or you may find the waiting line stretching out into the street. :) Located in Skaneatles ~ Glenda Nash - Gentle Giants Bed and Breakfast Schooner's Restaurant - You can order it any day of the week and not just on Friday and Saturday and it is always fresh and done to perfection.They make a very generous fish sandwich that is a meal onto its own for those who don't want a terribly large meal. Prices are decent and the restaurant is nicely decorated in a nautical theme which provides a bit of ambiance as well. It is just off 5 and 20 in Canandaigua so is easy to get to as well. ~ Fran - Ambroselli's Villa Serendip B&B Captain Yogi's Fish Shack Restaurant - You have to stop by 4590 East Lake Road, Canandaigua NY, which is actually in the Town of Gorham. You will not find another atmosphere or experience similar in the Finger Lakes Region. Unique and indescribable are just two thoughts that come to mind any time we have gone there or sent guests. The Captain's winter hours are only Fridays & Saturdays from 4 to 9PM but during the summer he is open from Wednesday thru Sunday from 4PM until Late. You can reach the Captain at 585-394-1166. ~ Nancy & Al - Gorham House Bed & Breakfast Savard's Family Restaurant - We love the Fish Fry at Savard's on Franklin Street in Watkins Glen. The fish is fresh and flakey. Reminds me of "A Salt and Battery" in New York City, which was a "hole in the wall" million dollar business. ~ John & Tony - John Morris Manor The Deerhead Inn - has an excellent fish fry. I especially like their shrimp. Located on Lower Lake Rd in Seneca Falls on the West shore of Cayuga Lake. ~ Judy and Ralph - Barrister's Bed and Breakfast The Glenwood Pines - The fish fry is too big for the plate and when you pair it with one of their fresh soups it is just plain ol' good food. It also goes nicely with a good beer too. =) Located on Rt 89 about 4 miles North of Ithaca on Cayuga Lake. ~ Steve and Kathy Wirt - Wine Country Cabins B&B
