Most romantic restaurant for lunch in the Finger Lakes

After many fine discussions of scenery, ambiance, romance, fine cuisine, and of course fine wine, our innkeepers put together a list of "the most romantic place to have lunch" in the Finger Lakes. They describe many great places that all deserve a chance to make your visit a romantic one. Here is what they had to say:

The Brown Hound Bistro

Just beyond Naples, NY is a rather new but extremely intimate dining establishment that boasts great food, great service and perfect for romance. Cozy little nooks to whisper sweet sentiments to your companion and specials such as Beef Wellington satisfy the most discriminating palate. Open Wednesday through Sunday - you will definitely want to make reservations. ~ Fran Ambroselli - Villa Serendip

A unique and intriguing menu that changes seasonally. The remarkable, creative combinations of ingredients sets this restaurant apart from all the others. It is a cozy and romantic restaurant in a converted 100+ year home. In the Summer months, the wrap-around deck is available for open air seating. Combined with the friendly hospitality of the staff, it should not to be missed in the Finger Lakes. ~ Lynda & Bob Dobberstein - Abner Adams House Bed and Breakfast

Stone Cat Cafe - A romantic setting overlooking Seneca Lake, combined with outstanding food, and relaxed yet professional service, all comes together to form a very romantic encounter. It looks like an old fruit stand (it once was) but don't judge this book by its cover. They have a great Finger Lakes wine list too. Located on the East side of Seneca Lake. ~ Steve and Kathy Wirt - Wine Country Cabins Bed and Breakfast

Stonecutters Tavern - located in Belhurst Castle, is a superb place for lunch any time of the year. During the colder months, diners can enjoy a roaring fire in the huge stone fireplace while taking in Seneca Lake views through the vast wall of windows. In warmer weather, terrace dining is available with the same beautiful lake views. There's also a fire pit for those cooler days/evenings. Beyond the picturesque location, the food is excellent with generous portions and reasonable prices. Open seven days a week.
~ Donna Cunningham - Yale Manor B&B

The Steamboat Landing - The food is great and so are the views from being right on the waterfront with huge windows looking out across the lake. Located at the Northern shore of Canandaigua Lake. ~ Al & Nancy - Gorham House Bed and Breakfast

The restaurant at Knapp Winery -   You can eat inside, but in the warmer months, the outside patio under the grapevines creates a very romantic setting.  The surrounding gardens are well kept and very colorful, and the menu is exciting and diverse.  They have Knapp and Glenora sparkling wines by the glass as well as by the bottle - another romantic touch to a special lunch. Located on Cayuga Lake. ~ Terry Barrett - Keuka Overlook B&B

The Aurora Inn overlooking Cayuga Lake. It's recently been beautifully restored and the food and service are excellent with reasonable prices. Located on the East side of Cayuga Lake. ~ Glenda Nash - Gentle Giants Bed and Breakfast

Cobblestone Restaurant gets our vote for a romantic luncheon! Located at the North end of Seneca Lake ~ Jack and Shirley Camp - LaFayette Bed and Breakfast

Captain Bill's Seneca Lake Cruise - They offer a two hour lunch cruise on Wednesday and Saturday. On the dock in front of Seneca Harbor Station at the South end of Seneca Lake in Watkins Glen. ~ Judith Austic - Barrister's Bed and Breakfast

Bristol Harbor - They have a beautiful view from the hill overlooking the lake. Located on the West side of Canandaigua Lake. ~ Jack and Donna - Bed and Breakfast at Oliver Phelps

Warfield’s Restaurant - in Clifton Springs is romantic and elegant all rolled into one. They have wonderful salads, sandwiches and entrees with homemade desserts to die for. Delicious food, quaint town, historic building and warm staff add up to a special romantic lunch in the Finger Lakes. They are open Tuesday – Saturday, 11:30am to 2:30pm. ~ Betty McDonald - Toganenwood Estate B&B
