Best place to hold a wedding in the Finger Lakes

Practically any place in the Finger Lakes provides a romantic backdrop for holding a wedding. However, there are several places that are just extraordinary settings for a marriage ceremony. Here is what the innkeepers of the Finger Lakes recommend:

Garrett Memorial Chapel - Situated on the Bluff on Keuka Lake, the view is fabulous looking down the length of the lake and also being able to view both the East and West Fingers.  The historical importance of the Chapel also serves as an anchor to the special importance of a wedding day.  ~ Terry and Bob - Keuka Overlook Bed and Breakfast

Lodi Historical Society - A lovingly restored and maintained church from the 19th century. The stone work and stained glass provide a great place for a wedding without needing to worry about the weather. Located on the East side of Seneca Lake. ~ Steve and Kathy Wirt - Wine Country Cabins Bed and Breakfast

Geneva on the Lake - Last summer we had the opportunity to attend one of the most elegant weddings we had ever witnessed, with the ceremony performed before an altar on the bank overlooking Seneca Lake. Geneva on the Lake had set up white chairs for guests. While the beauty of this ceremony could have been ruined by rain, the claps of thunder and lightening as the service came to a close added to the magnificence of an outdoor ceremony. Walking to the site past the beautiful terrace and gardens and through the trees made the journey to the wedding site as enjoyable as the service itself. Located on the West side of Seneca Lake ~ Donna Cunningham - Yale Manor B&B

Lawrence Chapel - I love the little stone chapel adjacent to the Fontainebleu Inn on Rt 228 between Mecklenburg and Odessa with its old Victorian charm. Located on the West side of Cayuta Lake (between the South ends of Seneca and Cayuga lake) ~ Catherine Bonnett - The Glass Magnolia B&B

Hemlock Lake Park - It is a beautiful, peaceful, undeveloped and tree lined setting.   The lake is 8 miles long and is in quite a contrast to the larger more populated lakes.  Although the shoreline of any of the Finger Lakes makes a great back drop & the region's skies as a canopy is a breathtaking setting for the start of an everlasting marriage, this particular park is located South of the village of Hemlock, take 15A to 7412 Rix Hill Rd. ~ Al and Nancy - Gorham House Bed & Breakfast
